Lutheran Life Villages Home Care provides non-medical personal assistance to older adults wherever they live in northeast Indiana—whether it’s in their own homes, at Lutheran Life Villages, or in other retirement communities. It’s a great way for older adults to be independent and stay safe and healthy at the same time.
Home Care plans are customized to meet the requirements of each client. Services can include:
- Meal planning, preparation, and clean up.
- Light housekeeping.
- Errands and transportation, including trips to destinations such as the grocery store, doctor’s office, and hair salon.
- Bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Laundry and dry-cleaning.
- Organizing and cleaning closets.
- Care for pets and house plants.
- Companion care.
- Medication reminders.
- Respite care for home caregivers.
And much more.
To get things started, we provide a free consultation to each of our potential clients and their families to see if our services match their needs. Our home care director will come to the client’s home and make health and safety recommendations.

Before our caregivers receive our stamp of approval, we conduct the most stringent background investigations possible, a thorough reference check, and a comprehensive interview process—all above and beyond state standards.
Caregivers also undergo intensive initial training during an orientation period. In addition, each caregiver receives extensive training in understanding Alzheimer’s and dementia, meal preparation (including special diets), and the aging process. This sort of in-depth training goes far above state standards and ensures that our caregivers have purposeful interactions with clients.
It’s important to note that we provide the same services for people in assisted-living communities as we do for those living in their own homes. Whether it’s companion care for a senior with dementia, assistance with letter writing and correspondence, or transportation above and beyond community shopping trips, our caregivers are ready to help with whatever our clients need—no matter where they live. Often, Home Care can make the difference between seniors staying at their current care levels instead of moving to a more intensive and expensive care option.
