Respite Care
Even the most dedicated of caregivers occasionally needs time to attend to personal matters, take a short break, or go on a well-earned vacation. However, many family caregivers are reluctant to leave their loved ones in the care of others. Family caregivers may worry that another caregiver won’t provide the same quality of care and loving attention.
Nonetheless, there’s evidence that at least an occasional short break to relieve stress is in the best interest of both the caregiver and the person being cared for.
That’s why Lutheran Life Villages offers respite care on its campuses in Fort Wayne and Kendallville. Respite care will also be one of the services available in our new nursing and rehabilitation community on Coldwater Road, set to open in 2012.
We provide respite care for periods as brief as a few hours and for as long as 14 days. Regardless of the amount of time you require, the person you care for will receive the finest compassionate care available in an environment where wellness is promoted and friendship is fostered.
