Formally known as our Resident Care Fund, the Benevolence Fund helps “bridge the gap” between our private pay rates and Medicaid reimbursement rates, including any payment gaps during the transition between a resident’s private pay and Medicaid status. Currently, this amount is approximately $3 million every year.
Donors to the Lutheran Life Villages Foundation may designate their gifts to benefit the many programs and activities at Lutheran Life Villages. Funds include Chapel Offerings, Children’s Village scholarships, the Bed Fund and the Samaritan Fund for employee assistance.
Many donors to the Foundation choose to honor a loved one or memorize a family member with their gift. If requested, staff will compose letters to the family indicating your honor/memorial donation. Download information about our memorial fund.

Now it’s easier than ever for employees to support Lutheran Life Villages through our payroll deduction option. You can choose a one-time gift or a gift that will be withdrawn every two weeks from your paycheck. We simply transfer the amount from your paycheck to the designated program or activity. Last year employees committed more than $16,000 to benefit our residents.
