Intergenerational Programming

The innovative intergenerational programming we offer on our Legacy Campus in Fort Wayne continues to set us apart from other retirement-living providers and plays a key role in promoting overall wellness.

Intergenerational programming joins residents and students from Lutheran Social Services of Indiana’s Children’s Village early-learning center on the Legacy Campus. Intergenerational programming is a source of joy and memorable moments for members of both groups. Residents read to the children, play games with them, help them with crafts and projects, or just provide a lap for sitting and chatting. The two groups often have lunch together; students sometimes deliver mail to residents and join them in exercise; and there are outings, too, such as to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. The weekly Children’s Chapel brings them together for worship.
