Zoo Day set for June 5

Published on: May 16, 2012

On Tuesday, June 5, Lutheran Life Villages and Lutheran Social Services of Indiana (LSSI) will sponsor their third annual Zoo Day, a time of intergenerational fun at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.

Approximately 125 people—30 Lutheran Life Villages residents, 50 students from LSSI’s Children’s Village, 33 staff members representing both organizations, and several volunteers—will arrive at the zoo in two large buses at around 9:30 a.m.

After breaking into smaller groups to visit denizens of the zoo, the entire entourage will reassemble for a picnic lunch before returning to the Lutheran Life Villages campus on South Anthony Boulevard at about 12:45 p.m.

Located on the Lutheran Life Villages South Anthony Boulevard campus, Children’s Village is an early-learning center for children 6 weeks to 6 years old. Many Lutheran Life Villages residents regularly join the children for intergenerational programming that benefits both groups.
